1st Tenet: Identify the problem & the purpose on the court

The Problem & Purpose

Read "The Impact of Becoming Ambidextrous" - Part I

In America, we are taught to be single-handed. A deeper problem in this country is that if you look at the cars, the doors, and handshakes, you will see that we are taught to be right-handed. Why is that? What are they keeping from us that the left side knows? Left-brain thoughts are more cerebral while right-brain thoughts are more carnal. Being carnal is good for a worker-class mentality, and being cerebral is better for a free-thinking society. Now we know why they did it. Who is the "they"? Kyrie Irving tells who they are in Part I.

The purpose of becoming ambidextrous is to fully unlock your mind and body. Doing so opens hidden doors of intelligence, healing, and the way you use your physical being.

Right & Left Hemispheres of the Court

More Insight on Practicing this Tool

Whenever Coach Robert practices alone, he uses his left hand on the left hemisphere of the court for both layups and shots and the right hand on the right hemisphere. Even if you are unable to perform like this in a game, practicing it opens up huge doors that you didn't know existed in basketball.

Coach Robert practices this when brushing his teeth, eating, grabbing things, walking, and using the features on a cell phone.

More Insight on Applying this Tool

It took Coach Robert at least 6-12 months to be able to shoot from the foul line distance with complete ambidexterity. He is still developing his 3-point distance with his left hand.
